My First Ever Heads-Up Money Session With A CLOCK!

Posted By: Paul Weaver

Played a ten-hour money session, 7 PM to 5 AM. Finished up four hours ago. Played for real stakes. Played at opponent's home. Played with a clock. 12 seconds per move plus 12 minutes for each 10 games. Played with both cups and Simborg baffle box.

After 20 games score was even. Had a brilliant idea. Suggested we start playing nackgammon instead of backgammon. Opponent's first time to play nackgammon. Zillionth time for me to play nackgammon.

Had a fantastic enjoyable time during the ten hours because opponent was very pleasant and we listened to great classical music the whole time. Most fun I have had in years. I loved playing a money session with a clock. Cuts out a lot of BS.

Hope no one thinks I am bragging, but I lost a HUGE number. Opponent told me how much he loved playing nackgammon. Got 30 pounds deducted from my score because opponent bought a copy of my book. (Would you buy a book from someone whom you had just crushed in a money session? Maybe I could have settled the entire debt by giving him 300 copies of my book.) Same opponent also beat another visiting American player (who is stronger than I am) in recent long session.

Paid entire amount in cash but now in Europe for five more weeks with absolutely no cash. I won't be able to eat, but that's okay because I need to lose weight.

Anyone have any ideas?

Just wondering, who was hustling whom?
