Simborg's Duplicate Backgammon

In a previous post Phil Simborg mentioned duplicate backgammon as a means to measure who is the best player. That I'm sure would not happen, but I do like his idea about DB being a side event at a tournament. Perhaps with teams of 2, 3, or 4 like the bridge world. With different levels of play or formats it could be interesting. It could give a new meaning to a doubles tournament. At the very least it would give Phil plenty of situations to write about (same dice - different results). Any thoughts?
