Correct strategy for "best of three" format

OK, so we're having 2 important tourneys soon here in Croatia (one satellite for Grand Finale of EBGT on Cyprus and another one - Croatian Masters). In both the format will be best of three 7pt matches. (Masters Final is best of three 11 pt) So whoever wins 2 matches is the winner.
I would like to hear your opinion, whether intuitively or mathematically based one, on the best strategy for such format.
Let's say I win my first 7 pt match. How do I play in second one? Should I play as if I was leading in a longer match (being a bit more conservative about giving and taking the cube) or should I play normally, without taking the result of the first match into account at all.
Everyone's opinion is welcomed and appreciated, thank you!
