Me Ranting w/Examples (first 3 moves)

Everything listed below is taken from the semis of Monte Carlo this year. (I will get to the finals tomorrow) It doesn't really matter who made the mistakes but that in the finals of one of the biggest bg tourneys on the planet these sort of blatant, often memorizable, errors/blunders are still made. All examples are either at a score where the score doesn't matter one lick or I will indicate the score.

I believe two down with an opening 43 to be correct for money so even at this early stage being down 4-0 in the match it has to be correct by even more. I don't have a rollout AtS but it's the little things that kill ...

Again, play to the score! It was this person's style to slot with an opening 41, they did so throughout the match which is a fair argument to making the play. I think there's a point though where it gets to be plain wrong to make opening plays to your style instead of playing to the score. (eg. Fogerlund opened with a 64 leading -2 -7 and made the 2 pt., so wrong, I don't care what your style is)

While there is a match score attached to this one I think it has no real effect on the correct play. I think the slot is so right that I don't even have a rollout for this!
