Math of backgammon

Hi im been playing backgammon for about a year. Since half a year i'm been taking lessons and study with xg. Played my first live tourney and made it to the semi final. I'm really foccused on getting better but i just can get the math of backgammon in my head. Does anyone have some advice in how remeber the take points and value of gammons easier.
