Should Electronic Cigarettes Be Allowed in Tournaments?

An Electronic Cigarette (or "e-cig") is a battery-powered device that looks like a cigarette, but produces no smoke, no odor, and therefore no effect on others. It contains a battery which creates enough heat to atomize (vaporize) the enclosed liquid (which consists of pure water, flavorings & nicotine) which is inhaled by the "smoker", delivering a nicotine "fix" to the user, without any smelly, second-hand smoke. All that is exhaled is pure water vapor which is completely odorless, harmless, and instantly dissipates (like steam).

Should these be allowed at tournaments? Smokers may not need "smoke breaks" between games if allowed to "vape" an e-cig during their match, speeding up play. Check out www.v2cig.com for more info on e-cigs. Eventually, it's going to become an issue, since using an e-cig is technically not smoking, since there is no tobacco, smoke, ash, odor, or any other undesirables of actual smoking. Although it's a relatively new technology, e-cigs are being allowed in restaurants, bars, and hotels, etc. that are "non-smoking".

What are your thoughts?
