I'm Always Right - OT

On October 4, 2010 I wrote this about Chicago Bears starting running Matt Forte.

“I don't get the Forte decision. This is the second season in a row that this guy simply can't run well. He had only one productive year running. And his starting position seems untouchable.”

Joe Russell, being a real smart ass replied,

“The Bears offensive line is in shambles. They have many injuries and are starting several weak players. Two quarterbacks were knocked out. I am not supporting Forte, but Walter Payton could have not run for more than chump yardage with that line blocking for him.“

Since then Bears coaches have completely changed their offensive strategy and rebuilt the offensive line. The results are that Forte is 15th in rushing yards and 11th in yards per carry. He will gain 1,000 yards this season. He is an essential part of a balance passing and rushing Bears offense. Consequently, the 11 and 4 Bears clinched the division, made the playoffs, and may be one of the top NFL teams to receive a bye during the playoffs.
