Strength of 2ply VR RO?

Sometimes when I don't want to do 3ply rollout of some position and I'm not sure if 4ply and XGR+ evaluations are correct, I use 2ply rollout with variance reduction (that's built in setting in XG).

Is there any data or someone has own experience how strong or weak is 2ply rollout compared to 4ply or XGR+ evaluation?
