Containment: Might 7-ply outperform XGR+?

Today I got into a poorly-timed backgame that did finally yield a shot that I hit. I was then faced with a long series of difficult plays, starting with a position that looked something like this:

Money Game
Blue to play 22
White30

Blue196

I'm currently rather pessimistic about my ability to master the art of playing positions like this, largely because I don't trust what the bots say here. Am I underestimating the bots?

One specific thing I'm wondering is whether this is the sort of position where a 7-ply analysis might be more reliable than a rollout. I'm not really sure how to test that hypothesis, though.
