Why 1st roll ROs?

I'm curious why you guys are still spending so much time/computing power on 1st roll ROs. Seems to me that we pretty much understand the first roll and can spend more time doing second/third roll ATS and such. When will the dead fish have been beaten enough? This is meant, by the way, as a real question rather than some kind of attack...
