Unable to close GNUbg

I installed the latest version of GNUbg a few weeks ago on an XP laptop and noticed that, more often than not, when I tried to exit the program it would not, so that I had to use the Windows Task Manage to close it.

At first I thought the problem was my piece of junk Dell laptop. I then installed in in a Vista Compaq laptop (another piece of junk) and the same behavior resulted.

Wondering if y'all are seeing this problem. If so, is there a workaround.
