BQ: funky backgame play

Unthinkingly and not knowing any better, I played the obvious 16/7. At 4-ply analysis, the bot comes up with a play which to the punters like me seems funky.

I know backgames are difficult both for humans and machines, so will appreciate learning how to play this.
