Backgammon websites = ugly

Want to popularize backgammon? Well, start with good looking websites!
Most of current backgammon websites look very good - if we were in 1997. But we are in 2011 and those websites look like shit! (pardon my French)
Even if there are some people who heard something about backgammon and then they start to google if there is some backgammon club in their city - probably when they see those ugly websites, they don't want to play anymore.

I hope you get the point. Unfortunately, there are lot more examples.
If you don't see what's wrong with these websites, maybe you should start surfing on some other (non-backgammon) websites, made in this millennium.I'm aware that some people can't do better than this by themselves, but you have some options:
- pay the professional, but that will cost much money
- give it to your neighbors kid, he'll do it for free (but still better than you)
- try http://wordpress.org/ or http://www.blogger.com/ or something similar
If you are webmaster of some of the mentioned sites (or you have site similar to those), I hope I didn't offend you (at least not too much) and I hope that you'll realize that you can help both your club and backgammon in general if you make (much) better looking websites.
