I seem to remember vividly how I lose when I lose. I went 4-4 in the main, 1-1 in the Giants Invitational, and 2-1 in doubles, a pretty lackluster weekend. On top of that I don't feel I played very well. Still when I lose and it's to open level players that make these plays they make me vomit in my mouth a little bit. They shall remain nameless, I pick on them only anonymously but it escapes me how people who are of a certain level can make such errors on basic positions. I make blunders too, just as big and as ugly as the next guy, but the fundamentals should be exactly that and I am always in awe when I see something I might next botched by a player who is in the open draw and has been playing for a decade or three and may even be respected by his peers.
It doesn't necessarily help my game in any way, it would be better if that energy was spent elsewhere, but I can't help logging what's going on. The positions below are all from opponents who beat me over the weekend. It's nice to have a site all my own to whine when I want to.
