Third Coast Backgammon Club wins USBGF INTERCLUB CHALLENGE!!!

Congratulations to the Chicago Bears, of the Third Coast Backgammon Club, winners of the inaugural USBGF INTERCLUB CHALLENGE. The club's A team was represented by: Neil Kazaross; David Rubin; Carter Mattig; Rory Pascar. They won one of the more closely fought and exciting finals ever seen, defeating the Beltway Backgammon Club, represented by:Barry Silliman; John Klein; Grant Schneider.

With every set being close and all three decided by a 2-1 score, it was only fitting that the championship was decided at virtual DMP, 9-9, in a match between David and John. The last game was very exciting and could easily have gone either way.

Congratulations to both teams for an outstanding effort!

Justin and I will compose a longer report/questionaire and send it to all participants in the near future.

Meanwhile, we would like to thank all those that participated. We hope you found the competition challenging and fun. Special thanks to the team captains for helping us make this event run more smoothly than we could have hoped for!

Now it is time to start practicing for the 2011 USBGF NATIONAL ONLINE CHAMPIONSHIP, which will begin August 1st. Look for details to be released in the next few weeks.
