Calling all UK-based players: World Giants’ Challenge Backgammon Quiz

Dear UK-based Backgammon Player,

You are cordially invited to take part in The 1st World Giants’ Challenge Backgammon Quiz.

This unique event is being organised by the US Backgammon Federation and is a truly global backgammon experience.

Players from around the world will simultaneously answer 16 quiz questions set by the best backgammon players in the world.

The quiz will take place on June 11th 2011 at 6:00 p.m. London-time.

Quiz locations include Los Angeles, Copenhagen, Rome, Istanbul and London. The London event will take place in a central London restaurant to be confirmed once numbers are known.

The quiz will commence at 6:00 p.m. and will finish at 7:00 p.m. (UK time).

Following the quiz there will be dinner and a backgammon tournament. There will also be chouette play available for players losing in the early rounds of the tournament.

Answers to the quiz will be made available from 7:30 p.m. (UK time)

The highest scoring UK player will receive a bottle of champagne and the lasting glory of being the top placed UK player in this inaugural international backgammon event. Should a UK player win the quiz overall they will receive the prestigious World Giants’ Backgammon Quiz Trophy in addition to considerable international acclaim.

Winners will be announced on June 12th at 6:00 p.m. (UK time) by the US Backgammon Federation. All UK participants will be notified of the result via email and text.

Entry to the UK-based quiz and tournament is £15 for players registering by 8th June and £20 for players registering by midday on the 11th June and includes dinner and a drink.
