The 22 pt is blocked nicely by the opp 9 and 8 pts and the opp will be able to maintain that block and is at little risk when he comes off one of his 2 anchors into the outfield.

If you keep the 22 pt you still may be constrained for plays soon and your wasted spare on the 3 pt makes a blocking game less promising.

After making the 18 pt, you can't be blocked and establish outfield presence with a pt rather than blots and there's really not a huge risk of being blitzed by 11 checkers in the zone with only a 2 pt board.

I fear that there's a line forming at BK with all those who don't make the 18 pt here.

This is a normal enough score when it comes to initial cube decisions and gammon values so as Stick says....if there's any doubt make the DMP play.
