I would have played 24/18 22/18 here, though I'm not sure for the right reasons, so let me state them. White's double anchors are quite strong. They exert pressure on the outfield, and threaten Blue's outfield blot. White does not have much fear of getting her blot hit, or even of running off one of her anchors. Blue, on the other hand, is running out of time. In particular he doesn't have time to sit back on the 22pt and wait for a better opportunity. If he runs with 24/14, then even if his blots don't get hit, he stands to lose the timing battle. White will take control of the outfield and Blue will crunch. This seems to me to be a more serious danger than the immediate danger of getting attacked. Making the 18pt anchor establishes an outfield presence and stays connected.
