Computer suggestions?

My laptop's screen decided to take a big dump. It's only barely useable at this point. I may be in the market for a new desktop computer. Could you all give me some suggestions? I don't want to go overboard on spending $$$, but I'm looking to get something better than the low end stuff. I'll likely want to use it to do some BG analysis, so some good juice in the processor is important.
