Wow, this is a surprising rollout. To analyze it further, I'd start by trying variations of Blue's forward position, e.g., I'd try shifting Blue's home-board gap deeper (to the 3pt, 2pt, or 1pt). The fact that 7/4 is such a productive 3 in your position complicates the assessment; by fiddling with the forward position, one should be able to understand more clearly where the rear checkers "want" to be. Then, armed with this information, one can return to your original position and hopefully see why 16/15 is so much better than 8/7.
