Vaguely similar position

Your position reminds me a little bit of this position that I misplayed OTB. Of course there are many differences between your position and mine, but I think that one similarity is that when your "structural" plays don't actually produce very good structure, then it may be a better plan to steer towards a blot-hitting contest that you are favored to win. In your case, there is the added incentive that you can't totally avoid the blot-hitting contest anyway.
