24/16. White wants to run into the outfield and then home. By playing 24/16 you increase outfield control and hinder this plan. Hits cost white either 10-point, or the spare on the mid, and in the latter case leave the question what to do with the hitter - leave it as a vulnerable blot, or hide it somewhere. 24/16 is a combined distraction / outfield control play.
