As I mentioned in another post I gave my first prime v. prime lessons this week. In preparing the lessons and going through prime v. prime positions I found they're flat out too tricky. One pip can swing so much equity in a position and you will almost never have a 'reference position' prime v. prime come up over the board like you might with early game blitzes or holding games. For that reason I have not recommended to my students to try to commit any such reference positions to memory. I'd much rather they catch all the important aspects of prime v. prime positions which can be downright tricky for even the most seasoned player than commit these to memory.

If you have an unlimited amount of data you can store in your head without much work then by all means, remember these positions. For mere humans like myself though this is something I'd toss out the window.
