If this position arose as early as the seventh roll of the game (Blue going first), it appears that both players erred. For example, it might have been one of the sequences below, with checker play errors marked in red.

Also (not marked above), Blue surely missed a powerful double just prior to his current 42 roll (though it seems like a pretty clear take for White).
As for the play at hand, I like @ (anchor, 24/20 22/20) regardless of cube position but especially if the cube is in the center. Just grab the magnificent 20pt now. Opp's 2pt blot is a weakness regardless, and trying to exploit it directly by leaving the back checkers split can too easily backfire.
