For me the choice would be between 19/14 5/2* (winning more, less gammons) and pointing on the 2. The drawback of 6/1 5/2* is that it is impure, and more importantly, that you are on the bar again a 5 point board if hit back, reducing chances of picking up another checker and allowing the checkers on the 16 to move freely with limited danger. Each bit of forward progress reduces gammon chances...
