GNU's statistics are certainly a step in the right direction. But they fall short in several ways.

1. It's not available for checker-play decisions.

2. It's not possible to save the statistics (for example, in the .sgf file).

3. The statistics are not grouped together in the way I was suggesting. You can't quickly read off the number of double games. You can derive the number of double games, of course, by adding up the right numbers, but for the average user, the statistics provide "too much information" and are hard to parse.
