If you had any wins yourself, then you might pay more attention to who is raking the results.

Why bother to play any tournaments if you can't win the respect and acknowledgement from your peers? It's never going to be a positive equity to travel and pay for accomodation and food on top of entry fees.

In an extreme sense, if everybody was thinking like you, noone would be playing in any tournaments because it would be a losing proposition where you could only lose, not gain from playing (assuming that the social aspect of participating in a tournament is not a strong enough positive to overcome the negative equity).

I think we all strive for recognition and winning big tournaments ought to give you that.

After all we are all trying to improve our games in order to maximize our chances of winning some tournaments, right?
