I think it's interesting, but it's also "too hard" in the sense that I don't have anything to contribute other than a WAG. I would have taken and also been unsure about the double, though I think I would have doubled eventually, like you.

In general, I think that match-cube problems often don't get many responses (unless they come from a live match that has some human interest) because people find them too difficult. That doesn't mean that the people who do read such posts don't appreciate them.
