Why not variable side pools?

I definitely want suggestions... I was thinking the "recommendation level" could simply have a built-in advantage. For example, an X% rake at $200 but a 2X% rake below that.

Having said that, I don't see a problem with someone who wants to bet $20. For example, I am not a side pool bettor because I go to tournaments to play BG, not to gamble. So I don't get $200 worth of fun out of playing a $200 side pool. But I might toss down $20 just for the hell of it. What's wrong with that? More fun for me, and $20 more for you!

One other factor I wondered about is rounding. Obviously the payouts should not be exact ("Stick, that's $4127 and 34-cents").

Should they be to the nearest $10? $5? $1?

I'll put in a TD setting for rounding, so I'm really asking what the default should be.
