I chose 13/9 because it has the least return shots on the next roll (12). As with many situations, future shots and gammons also need to be considered so I can understand a different play being correct (e.g., 8/5*/4). However I did a rollout of this position and what is surprising is the significant difference between cubeful and cubeless equity. For this position, the rollout says 13/9 is the second best play but the cubeless equity is so "much" better than 8/5*/4). I have seen this in other positions I have analyzed but can never get it in my head how this comes about. One other point, the cubeful equity is positive for both plays; and the cubeless equity is negative for both. Stick, I hope I was clear....please help.
