Cube Theory Question

Can anyone recommend a good article that covers some intermediate to advanced cube theory. In general, I'm pretty solid on take points and gammon values, but what I am interested in is the answer to the following question:

What (mathematically) determines if a player is too good to double?

I figure his opponent is obviously below his take point (whatever that may be at the match score), so this must be determined by the chances and gammon chances of the leader. But what do these chances have to be? When does it change from D/P to TGTD/P?
