Well, I agree with you that most people, most of the time, either don't check a bot or check a bot and say so. But my guess is that a fair number of people occasionally check a bot without saying so, and a small number of people frequently check a bot without saying so. It is, after all, pretty easy to rationalize your action as follows: "I was confident that Play X was right...but I checked the bot just to be absolutely sure...and of course the bot agreed with me. So Play X is really `my' play and I don't need to advertise the fact that I did a quick confirmatory check." That's the scenario that I think usually happens. It's probably rare that someone checks a bot, realizes that they totally missed the bot play, and tries to pretend that they saw the bot play without looking at a bot.
