The correct sequence was also short, but I'll bet you can come up with one before I can remember it!
I suppose I would have, but Stick and Michael already spotted it before I got back online to see your post. There seems to be a growing group of people with retro skills!
As a new position has been inadvertently produced, here is my brief answer:
157
21S-64H-21H-65H-33 189
With four checkers back, I'm inclined to reject any play that doesn't put a checker on the 5pt. That narrows the decision down to Q, C and m for me, with no real preference between the three. The duplication of either 31 54 or 43 61, and some return shots at the 11pt blot, may be worth noting.
Key
Q = bar/22 8/5 6/3(2)
C = bar/22 8/5(3)
m = bar/22 23/20 8/5(2)Making an advanced anchor is a lower priority here than in Daniel's original position (54S-62H-65R-21H-65H-33) because Blue has a checker spread to the 23pt (instead of it being a third checker on the 24pt) and White has no fourth checker on her 8pt.
