In the prebot era, I would have made the 9 and 3 points. How can you lose from there? Well, lots of ways. Won't that often let you pick up a second checker? Yes, but you can also win a lot of gammons by putting just one checker on the bar with a strong board and mostly good follow-up rolls. So today I'd play 13/1*(2). Not because I've carefuly weighed losses from blotting with 6-6 6-5 6-4 5-5 or from not clearing safely against extra gammon wins, but simply because it looks like so many positions where a bot would say that the trade-off is well worth it. The priming play blots, anyway, on 6-6 5-5 and 6-2 6-1.
