I also played it a bit and also found that the double hit often gives a quick route to the full close out, more so than the other two plays. It would be the most practical play, minimizing chances for follow up errors.

Your switching play I would not make OTB, but I played it out and it also makes sense. I would still not make it because I am more comfortable with the positions after the loose double hit or the single hit.
