Thanks for the tip.

In GNUBG, under Analyze -> Race Theory - One-sided Rollout/Database, I got the following results in 5760 trials:

  1. After playing 7/3, 5/2, Blue's EPC is 109.288, with wastage 8.228. Blue is wasting 0.3 more than my prior "guesstimate."
  2. After he plays 11/7, 6/3, Blue's EPC becomes 108.994, with wastage 7.994.
  3. After moving 11/4, the EPC is 108.522, with wastage 7.522.

This last move is not a viable option in this position, but I threw it in just to demonstrate that putting extra checkers on the bar point is going to raise your EPC. Of course, putting them on the two point will raise it even higher.
