I'd play Bar/17, hoping white rolls one of the 19 non-hitting rolls. Maybe this is a big blunder. Sometimes the ugly play is stronger. But how will Blue win the game after a move like Bar/23 8/2?

If I were White, I'd like to see Blue play that ugly move. I'd start clearing the 16-point and bring my checkers home and still win some gammons.
