There is no magic formula. There are a set of guiding principles, which expert players on this forum have shared in this thread and elsewhere.

The stronger the player, the more such principles seem to work. That is because experts have learned to spot "clear" exceptions or "obvious" imbalances, such as three checkers piled on the 24pt in your Position 1.

Your original approach of posting contrasting positions with accompanying evals (rollouts of 5k or more would be better) is apropos. From bgonliner feedback, you can learn and build on more basic concepts -- not always what you're setting out immediately to "solve" but vital nonetheless.
