How does this help vs 2/0?

If we play 1/0 we can afford a single miss and if we roll 3 aces in a row we waste a turn.

If we play 2/1 we can't afford a single miss and we miss if we roll 3 aces in a row, also wasting a turn.

It is never incorrect to bear a checker off the ace pt with an ace when there's no contact. (Of course it often doesn't matter, as is the case here)
