I'm not certain what the correct play is here, but 13/12 is certainly a candidate. The same factors are at play here. You're way behind in the race and you must hit. Getting hit is not so bad because your opponent's board is weak. If your opponent leaves a blot then you prefer to get a double direct shot rather than a single direct shot.
