SGG is a somewhat unreliable format. Duplicate entries don't just occur for doubles, but also for moves. GNUBG has a whole pile of hacks in place to try and detect and remove the duplicates.My guess is Xavier has such code as well but may have missed a scenario.

GNUBG has inline comments in its source code about the duplicate detection. You don't need to be a programmer to understand the magnitude of the problem importing SGG.At the link below search for "importsgg". Then continue to search for the word "duplicate". You will find many references to duplicate detection with some examples.
