So you don't deter anyone from volunteering let me mentioning that since they're only using 3ply/XGR & 1296 as the default you don't need anything near an i7 chip to help with this project. Thanks to the how fast XG2 is, you can churn out rollouts w/those settings of that length in a jiff.

Ply comparison. At this link we see the comparison of strength and strength v. speed in the clickable charts. I don't know but might it be worth it to use XGR+ for the cube instead of XGR? Also, if you get enough rollateers w/an i7 chip I'd suggest 4ply/XGR+ as the default settings. When I do projects like this I'd rather invest more time and have the results that much more meaningful than cut a little bit of time off and think to myself I wonder if ... It's not like you're on a time crunch.

To give you some idea of timescales possibly involved here are some earlier tests Xavier performed on weaker settings:

Checker and cube: 3-ply

Minimum 1296 games

Stop after reaching 0.005 CI or 20736 games

After 24 hours he got the 1st 5 games rolled on a core i7-860.

That scales approximately to 100 days of rollout time.

None of those games contained back games which would take longer.

Now rescale that based on stronger settings and you get some idea of the task involved. Obviously if we get plenty of volunteers we can consider stronger settings.
