Falafel Position

We'd love to run the back man but can't really get to safety13 sh. If we go priming with 15/9,6/1 I think the timing is against us, and the 9 and 3 points don't really fit anyway. So, for me, it comes down to a choice between three crazy plays: slotting the point we want with 15/4, attacking with 8/2,7/2, and trying to buy time for running with 23/18, 8/2*.

Attacking leaves 7 shots and slotting 11 plus attacking buys more time to get the back man out. Slotting leaves fewer blots, so we're not going to get gammoned as much if hit, but I think the extra time + fewer shots makes attacking clearly better. A minor point is that after slotting our 5s are somewhat duplicated between running and covering. Overall slotting looks wrong.

Running + hitting with 23/18, 8/2* leaves blots everywhere. Almost anything that enters will also hit something. On the other hand, if white dances things look great. The chances of that are only 1/4, and blue's winning chances should be better than that, so I'd guess this is wrong. It's the kind of play I like though, so I might well play this OtB if playing quickly (or with too much beer).

So, I'm attacking: 8/2,7/2. White dances nearly half the time (16 shots), and blue has a lot of material to continue the attack when that happens. It's also a promising attack even if white enters but doesn't hit (13 shots). The back man must get out somehow, but if things go well we can have white dance for awhile (either immediately or later) while we wait for a 5 and then move through the outfield.

Probably all of this is not right, since we are a bit ahead in race so I shouldn't be looking at the crazy plays. I just can't play 15/9, 6/1 - the position is not flexible and the back man is stranded, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn it is right.
