Blue's distribution efficiency weighting is 663/100, 6.6+34 = 40.6. I've arrived at this figure by multiplying the efficiency weighting of a given point by the number of checkers on that point. For instance, the EW for the 6pt is 33.33 x 2 checkers, 66.6. Thus, blue's DEW is: 6pt 66.6, 5pt 80, 4pt 50, 3pt 66.6, 2pt 100, 1pt 200 = 663. There are 100 units per pip so, blue needs to add a further 6.6 pips to his pip count which I refer to as his actual pip count. Under the same conditions, white needs to add 3.8 pips plus a further 50 units for each gap or 0.5 x 2; 1+3.8 pips. APC's of 40.6 - 48.6 indicate blue's edge is 8.2 pips.

Result: 35.26% Metric.

This method is based on the Table generated on p2 of my article. It has nothing whatsoever to do with EPC.

I'm testing this method on real game positions and will post the results when I have sufficient data.
