I'd just make the ace. The hit leaves so many blots and shots and double hitters that it is not funny anymore. Even when the hit works, you have trouble extracting your back checkers. Just build a board, bring the third checker back up and around, and play a quiet holding game.

These type of hits can be better than they look because they win more games than playing quietly, but here I pass.
