Why is dmp so important?

Since there are no more cube actions, the game is played to its conlusion: the player who knows how to play at the particular score (DMP) should have some edge.
Perhaps the whole notion of money game play as the gold standard for checker play is ill-advised, after all it is just a tradeoff between conflicting interest: winning a single game, winning a gammon/backgammon and not losing a gammon/backgammon, hence in a sense Double Match Point, Gammon Go and Gammon Save are more fundamental concepts.
Checker play at score is still largely uncharted (and fascinating) territory in backgammon theory. I have a dream/hallucination of a future system in which every roll is assigned a value according to its place in a match score sensitivity typology, along with a visual sign for human cognition, a triangle or other symbol which iconically conveys idea how the above conflicting interests are manifested in a given decision/roll. We could in that way develop a standard for finding regulaties, general guidelines between apparently dissimilar plays. Bot applications (database inquiries etc) of this would be worth studying.
