Yes, this was a blindspot on my part. When I made that remark, I saw only two options: running into the outfield and playing both dice up front. But after 23/20, the problem of getting the back checker out has basically been solved and there's no need to risk losing all those pips when the race is nearly even and our board is still not that strong. So 23/20 and dump a checker up front.
