Whetstone is the floating point unit speed (Dhrystone is for integer calculation).

XG relies only to the floating calculation so Whetstone is the right benchmark.

Roughtly 50% of the time is spent in floating point calculation using SSE2 or AVX depending of your PC. The rest is regular IA32 instructions.

Overall, however, a combine benchmark is typically sufficient to compare 2 CPU without having to drill down to the specific Whetstone benchmark.
