neural net input, hidden and output units

I do believe TD-Gammon did use 40 Hidden Nodes, and yes the observation that Gerald didn't take into account Backgammons always fascinated me - I'm not sure why either.
For those (others beside Frank) who may be curious the 4 outputs from TD were Player X wins, Player O wins, Player X Gammons, Player O Gammons. The bots with 5 outputs use wins, gammon wins, backgammon wins, gammon losses and backgammon losses. The number of losses can be computed from the wins so isn't necessary.
GNUBG's inputs are 4 inputs per player per 25 positions, and an additional 50 pseudo type inputs.
