I would make the same play OTB, but am not sure now. I won't touch the back checkers, but that still leaves 4 plays to consider, 13/7 8/5(2), 13/7 13/10(2), 13/7 6/3(2) and 8/5(2) 6/3(2). As others have pointed out, the 8-point already has value here, so making the 5 at the expense of the 8 does not gain that much. Playing 6/3(2) goes beyond the open 4 and maybe open 5 point, so that also reduces a bit in value. I think making the bar is important and strong here, blocking the checkers on the deuce.

I would play 13/7 8/5(2) based on Stick's maxims, but it would not surprise me at all if 13/7 13/10(2) or 13/7 6/3(2) (making 4 out of 6 blocking points) are better. I'd be surprised in 8/5(2) 6/3(2) would be right.
